Some organizations know the domain where they must improve or an industry they need to enter, but do not yet know how to define the problem or the path forward. A leadership team may recognize that artificial intelligence, data, simulation, market expansion, organizational design, healthcare technology, cybersecurity or another domain is becoming strategically important – without having the internal expertise to determine the right next step.
Embedded Faculty engagements place experienced UCF faculty close to the organization’s senior leadership context to accelerate understanding, frame the right questions, and identify the actions required to build new capability.
When You Know the Domain, But Not Yet the Problem
Embedded Faculty is designed for organizations that need deeper, sustained domain insight before a formal solution can be scoped. It is especially useful when leaders face uncertainty around a new capability, emerging technology, market or industry expansion opportunity, or organizational challenge, and need expert guidance to understand what they are really confronting.
How the Engagement Works

Faculty may engage onsite, virtually or through a hybrid model, depending on the organization’s needs. The defining feature is not location alone. It is the depth of interaction between the faculty member and the organization’s leadership, teams, data, systems and strategic context.
The faculty member learns the organization at a deeper level, brings domain expertise into leadership conversations and helps the executive team clarify what the right next actions should be. Next actions may lead to Industry Solutions, Executive Education, Workforce Upskilling, applied research engagements with UCF, or hands-on executive coaching over a longer-term period of change.
Premium and Selective Positioning
Embedded Faculty is one of STLI’s most selective forms of engagement. It represents a high-touch deployment of UCF faculty expertise into an organization’s strategic context and is best suited for partners prepared to work closely with faculty over time.
